a brief history [of me]
I am passionately interested in computers and networking
I have been from an early age (all the way back to my Commodore 64!). I was introduced to the troubleshooting process by necessity, trying anything to make buggy computer games run properly! I began programming with BASIC, Visual Basic, then Turbo C++ way back and launched successful video games and other applications via the shareware craze when I was 15. I've since moved away from coding and into a much broader range of information technology.
I am a UW-Madison alumnus with a degree in fine arts (sculpture). I've worked professionally within information technology for over 20 years, beginning at student help desks and quickly working up to director level positions at local service providers. For the last 15 years I've worked as an independent IT consultant where I'm afforded the opportunity to work with all types of clients: startups, medical devices, law firms, web hosting providers, engineers, hospitals, lobbyists, large property managers, school districts...even other IT companies.
I love playing/listening to music and watching film. Moreover, I love talking about music and film with others. In my spare time I design and host a private media sharing website and radio station broadcasting thousands of hours of streaming media growing daily.
